Mission
Mission is the active love of God in and for the world; to heal, re:create, redeem, renew and transform. The church is missional in that God invites and sends us to participate in and extend God's love in action, seeing and serving Christ in all people, and care taking our environment.
We intentionally reach out within our neighborhood of Montavilla to love and serve people living in poverty, people living outdoors, and people who are hurting or disenfranchised in other ways. Below are core services and ministries we provide in our neighborhood.
Brigid's Coffee Hour is a meal ministry for the poor that has continued for over 20 years at the church. This ministry is named for St. Brigid of Kildare, a fifth century Irish Celtic saint who founded a religious community known for wisdom and compassion, hospitality and healing. The overriding philosophy of Brigid's Coffee Hour is to treat our guests in the same way we would treat guests in our own homes. We offer a simple meal every Saturday at 9:30 am.
Rahab's Sisters provides compassionate hospitality and a supportive presence to women marginalized by the sex industry, substance abuse, and homelessness. We welcome them without judgment, just as they are, no strings attached, no questions asked. Our mission is to respond to our sisters in a servant spirit. We partner with Rahab's Sisters, and volunteer our space for this ministry, each Friday from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. For more information, visit www.rahabs-sisters.org
